Labels
Gay, lesbian, straight, black, white, brown, yellow , conservative, liberal, republican, democrat, Christian, Catholic, Muslim, tree hugger, emo, goth, wild, crazy, homo, fag, rich, poor, burden to society.
So many more, so many more ways to judge. What about this one.
Human
Society uses labels to distinguish ourselves from one another. Why must we do so? To build ourselves up? Or put ourselves down?
I am so frustrated with mankind. How can any person be described by one word? It is not possible. We are complex creatures and beautifully made. We are what we believe and every bit of our beliefs has a lifetime of reality to form it. We are also what nature has chosen for us. Our genetic code is what it is and that is not a sin, or something we should be judged or condemned for. Choices, sometimes bad, are what others should see us as. How long have we been fighting for civil rights now in other countries but we still lack civility in ours.
My family was perfectly white and heterosexual and I was abused, used and forgotten. Show me perfection and I will show you a standard for judgment.
Be kind. There is an aching world out there. Every reality is different. Every person struggling through their own battles.
You are not better. You are different.
Happiness
Happiness. We strive for this. We seek it in the work place, in relationships, in our families, and within ourselves. I had a pastor say to me some years ago that I cannot achieve happiness unless I am on the path which will bring me to it.
What this means to me is that if I am at point A and my true fulfillment is at point B then I had better not wander onto the path that takes me to point Y.
In a family full of people with ADD and ADHD, it is nearly impossible to stay on one path for more than two days at a time no less ten minutes. How then will I ever achieve happiness? Well here is my start.
Writing
More than anything I want to write and touch the lives of others with my written words. Too long I've hidden my thoughts because I was worried what others would think, say, do. I'm done now. So if you are interested in reading some crazy honest stuff… Here you go.
